When a .in name expires and nobody renews it, it drops back into the pool and anyone can register it. Most of those names are noise. A few are good words, old names, names with a history. drops.co.in publishes a digest every morning of the names that dropped and are still free, scored and ordered, with the ones worth a look at the top.
The page promises “hand-registerable right now”, so nothing unverified is printed: every name in the digest is checked against the registry at the moment of publishing, and the digest says when that was.

The work
A daily job takes one day of drops out of the expiring pool, keeps the names past their window that were not re-registered, scores them, confirms each at the registry, writes the digest and catches up on any older days it missed. The archive is dated, one page a day, so a name you saw last week is still where it was.

How it is built
drops.co.in is a face of the same Next.js application as ideas.co.in and dives.in, which is why they share a masthead grammar and a build. The digests are files on disk; the job that writes them runs at one in the morning UTC and never touches the live app in place.
